- Lopus – is a Community Based Tourism appointed by Lamandau Regency among other villages in Delang distric. There is a tourism awareness group (Kelompok Sadar Wisata – Pokdarwis ) “ Kokorakan Botuah” who is active to develop tourism potentials to be offered to local tour operators. Pokdarwis has started to welcome domestic and foreign tourist since March 2016. Tourist may stay overnight in the homestay and explore the nature treasure such as river tubing, bamboo rafting, trekking to the forest, living as indigenous, learn to make handicraft, weaving, kapuak, making tuak, enjoying traditional menus and many more.

Itenerary :
- Day 1 : Pangkalan Bun – Lopus Dayak Village
Meet and greet in Pangkalan Bun, then we will drive to Lopus Village. It will take around 4 hours by car. Lunch will provide on route in the local restaurant in Nanga Bulik, Lamandau. Upon your arrival in Lopus Village at afternoon, sightseeing around the village then the community will held a Welcoming Ceremony.
Check in into homestay, and enjoying traditional cooking class : Cooking rice on the leaf with bamboo fire. Nasi Tembiku: cooking sweet rice with coconut milk on the pitcher plant. Kompu: cooking chicken or fish with bamboo fire. You will be entertained by local plate. You also have time to walk around the village to see the old house, Jorong or Sandung. Ikat Tongang Ceremony will be held after dark, gathering with locals and having dinner together with family: traditional food. Ikat Tongang is an ceremony by giving a bracelet to the guest. This ceremony will be leads by
“Mantir Adat” such as a shaman. This is a symbol of acceptance, hoping for the good life and experience during visiting the village and protection from the bad devil.
After dinner, continuing to Bagondang, a welcoming ceremony. Here you might allow to dance with the Dayak people while they will serve you with the rice wine. Dance is quite simple, just imitate the Hornbill movement and following the drumbeat music, somebody will play poem with charismatic tone, while another offers you a glass of arak. Perfecto! Enjoy the ceremony and back to the homestay/local house for sleeping. Meals Provided L D
- Day 2 : Exploring Lopus Village
Highly recommend to stay and explore on the village. Another option, we stay on the village to explore deeply about the culture, such as:
Rumah Betang, a traditional house of Dayak. Some of them, the wall made by tree bark. You also can learn any local artisan such as: how to make Tuak/rice wine. Tuak is a very nice rice wine made by fermented sweet rice with many kinds of herbs and spicy. Tuak is very important for Dayak and you may see almost in every ceremony. Tuak is also use for welcoming drink. Next process of tuak is Arak with higher alcohol like a vodka or spirits. Handicraft class: rattan weaving and kapuak (tree bark). Dayak well known of making handicraft such as rattan weaving for several equipment and accessories. Kapuak is an old fabric type for clothing, made from tree bark. Pilled the tree and hit and smear the bark till soft to get a sheet of kapuak. Or, you can just simply enjoy a walk and cross the river to to Ladang – an old agroforestry / shifting cultivation methode. This is absolutely incredible when the villager able to secure the food for family on the basic ways. They still have rice on the storage for more than 40 yo.

- Day 3 : Lopus – Sepoyu-Pangkalan Bun-Local Heritage
After breakfast, experiencing Menyumpit-blow pipe with village’s expertis. He can do more than 2 shoot in the one taking breath. Continue with local games Balogo, a fun traditional games with a stick and tree’s seed. Playing with locals.
Drive back to Pangkalan Bun for another 5 hours. Stop in some village to see the authentic Long House. Lunch will be served in route in the local restaurant.
On arrival in Pangkalan Bun, you will have a local heritage tour. Pangkalan Bun is the Capital of Kotawaringin Barat Regency- the name reminded us to the history of Kutaringin Kingdom- the embrio of this city. There are seven tribes known as the natives of Borneo: Dayak, Melayu, Banjar, Kutai, Paser, Berau, and Tidung. Dayak tribes usually live in the highland or mountain, while Banjar and the other tribes live in the coastal and river banks. Nowdays, the population in Pangkalan Bun including Javanese, Madurese, and also Bataknese. This is a such of Walking Sosio Culture Tour to dive into the color of Pangkalan Bun. How tolerance people here to live between complexity of the tribe, religion, culture and economic class. Visiting “Rumah Betang” a traditional long house in Pasir Panjang Village.
